January is National Hot Tea Month! If you're looking for a meaningful activity to do with someone who has memory loss, try sampling some hot herbal teas together and deciding on your favorites.  Pro Tip: People with dementia sometimes struggle to get adequate hydration, especially during winter months. Offering interesting beverages may help encourage drinking liquids.

If you're looking for a meaningful activity to do with someone who has memory loss, treat him or her to an at-home spa day. Make sure the bathroom is warm and inviting, and that you have soft fluffy towels on hand. Follow up with a good lotion and hand/foot massage. Pro Tip: Bathing can be a challenge for people with dementia; making it a special event may reduce resistance to bathing.

Elvis' birthday is January 8! If you're looking for a meaningful activity to do with a person who has dementia, try listening to Elvis' music together. Pro Tip: Music has a unique ability to change moods, so play your loved one's favorite music often.
